Goals! Goals! Goals!

I’ve now been in business for over 20 years either in sales or travel. The subject of goal setting has come up frequently. Nearly every training programme I’ve taken part in or attended will mention goals.

It’s interesting because I’ve set goals for myself throughout my working life and often written down my different goals. But I can’t ever remember if I’ve actually achieved any of the goals I’ve set myself <scratches head> If I’ve written them down I’ve then forgotten where I wrote them. I have so many notebooks, pads etc that it would take an age. So why can’t I simply think harder about what I really want to achieve, set my distinct goals, make a plan to achieve those landmarks, get them down on paper or in my phone and go for it?

The reason is that I’m not organised enough, and I don’t feel I’m going to reach my goals. I have self doubt, I’m either way up on a high or in a deep dark place. There is no consistency to my life. Yes my life! I have had too many low points, self doubt and insecurities about being worthy.

That was then. This is now. I’ve thought about why I’m not achieving my true potential and why I’m not as successful as I feel I deserve. The easy answer is me. I ‘flicked the switch’ and now have a plan, goals are set, written down and a system is in place. A few pennies have dropped and I’m on my way ⬆️

I’ve overcomplicated EVERYTHING in the past and doubted my potential. I don’t surround myself with doubting nellies..
